News from the Primary Coordinator

Dear Parents/Guardians and friends of Sirius College,

It has been another wonderful term full of great learning, adventure and accomplishments.

This term, our Primary students have taken part in many projects, outings and activities that have helped them gain a better understanding and make greater connections with the topics that they have learnt.

Geography and Excursions

Our focus topic was Geography and each class took part in an outing, some included, The Chinese Museum, The Eureka Skydeck, The Royal Botanical Gardens, Local Community walks and even a visit to the local Shopping Centre and Reserve.

Incursions

We had some great incursions in which students were provided with great knowledge and understanding, including the St Johns Ambulance, which informed our students of first aid necessities. Students were given strategies on how to be understanding and supportive of each other.

We also had the Australian Animals visit the Year 2's and some fun orienteering for the Year 4's.

Classroom Learning

All classes took part in many learning activities including assignments, projects and quizzes, games, constructing and designing in all learning areas. Please take the time to read your child's teacher's information about some of the fantastic things that they have taken part in.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Book Fair has been a great success! After having a sneak preview of the multitude of books available to buy, student spent time creating a wish list, later which their families came to view and purchase from. All proceeds from the Book Fair will go towards buying new books for the library.

I wish everyone a happy end of term break. Hope you all have a restful 3 weeks. Term 3 will be quite eventful. I am especially looking forward to our Primary School Concert, Year 5 & 6 Camp and Eid Festival. Take care!

Kind Regards,
Mrs Esra Uzunbay
